8 Ordered that the House of Representatives hold two sessions each day commencing at 1/2 past nine o'clock in the morning and 1/2 past two o'clock in the afternoon until otherwise ordered. - read & passed.

Ordered that Messrs Evans of Gardiner, Smith of Nobleboro' & Woodbury of Minot be a committee to contract with some suitable person or persons to perform the duties of Door Keeper & Page. - read & passed.

Mr Emery came with a message to inform the House of the organization of the Senate by the election of Robert P Dunlap Esquire President and Ebenezer Hutchinson Esquire Secretary.

Ordered, that Messrs Adams of Portland, Abbot of Castine & Goodenow of Alfred be a committee to report rules and orders for the government of the House the present political year. - read & passed.

Ordered that Messrs Swan of Portland, Cobb of Durham, Parcher of Saco, Cobb of Waterville & Hobbs of Waterboro' be a Committee to wait on the several ordained Clergymen in the town of Portland, and request their attendance upon the House as Chaplains in regular rotation according to the seniority during the present session. read & passed

The Secretary of State came in and informed the House that he had laid upon the Senate table the several returns of votes for Governor given in Sept. last in the several towns & plantations within this State.
