and this afternoon at 3 oclock assigned for a 3d reading

Resolve in favor of Josiah Towle, came from the Senate referred to the next Legislature for concurrence and the House concurred.

Bill – additional to the several acts now in force to organize, govern and discipline the Militia, came from the Senate that body adhering to their vote passing the same to be engrossed, - and the House reconsidered their former votes on this bill and postponed the same indefinitely. Sent up for concurrence.

The Committee on the Judiciary, reported the following Resolve, and the report was accepted.

Resolve respecting the conveyance of lands granted by the State, was read a 1st & 2nd time and passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill – authorizing a Lottery for improving the Navigation of Kennebec River, was taken up agreeably to assignment and the new draft adopted by the Senate, substituted instead of the original Bill – and then on motion the same was indefinitely postponed – and the Clerk was charged with a message to acquaint the Senate therewith and request their concurrence.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Bill – to establish a Registry of Deeds for the Western District of Lincoln County, which was passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence
