Senate Jany 23, 1824

[Communication from J. Balkan Esq] A communication was received from John Balkan Esq. signifying has acceptance of the office of Counsellor and his readiness to be qualified. Read and sent down.

[Bill] Bill giving further power to Bridge Corporations was read a 2d time and indefinably postponed.

[Report Commisst under act of separation] Report of the Commissioners under the Act of Separation, was read and referred to the Committee on State Lands, and ordered the 250 Copies be printed for the use of the Legislature. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.

[Petition referred] Petition of Nathaniel Ingersoll was taken from the files and referred to the Committee on State Lands. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.

[Resolve] Resolve in addition to a Resolve apportioning the Representatives of the several Counties &c on the first apportionment, passed to be engrossed in the House, came up for concurrence, was read, twice and concurred.

[Order for papers] ordered of the House that the Senate take from their files and send down the petition of Henry Babb, read and the papers were sent down.

[Petition referred] Petition of Samuel Chase and others, to be annexed to Brunswick, was read and referred to the Committee on Towns. Sent down for concurrence Came up concurred.
