Petition of C. Richardson & als of Eastport for authority to erect a Bridge from Eastport to Carlour Island, was read & referred to the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals. Sent up for concurrence.
Resolve further providing for erecting & completing the Public Buildings, was read once and tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a second reading.
Resolve in favor of the Maine Wesleyan Seminary, was read a second time & passage refused. Sent up for concurrence.
Bill to incorporate the Sebago & Long Pond Steam Boat Navigation Company was read a third time & amended, and then a motion was made by Mr. Swan of Portland indefinitely to post pone the Bill which question was decided in the negative by yeas & nays as follows - yeas 45 Nays 65 see appendix page 351.] The House then passed the Bill to be engrossed as amended. Sent up for concurrence.
Resolve in favor of the Canada Road was taken up and amended, and then on motion ordered to lie upon the table.
Ordered, That when the House adjourns it adjourn at 1/2 past two o'clock this afternoon. - read & passed.
Mr. Sewall of Edgecomb moved a reconsideration of the vote of this morning refusing a passage to be engrossed, to the Resolve in favor of the Maine Wesleyan Seminary, and the House assigned tomorrow at ten o'clock to consider the motion.
