a Convention of the two Houses forthwith for the purpose of qualifying Jonathan Thayer Esqr. a Councillor elect, for the current year.

A message was then received from the House concurring in the foregoing proposition.

[Convention]

The two Houses of the Legislature then met in Convention when Jonathan Thayer Esqr. came in and took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify him to enter upon the duties of his office, before the President of the Senate in presence of the two branches of the Legislature.

The two Branches then separated.

[Petition referred]

On motion of Mr. Scamman, Ordered that the Petition of Thomas Miller and others, be taken from the files and laid on the table; Referred to the Committee on Incorporation of Towns: Sent down for concurrence, and came up concurred.

[Message]

Mr. Dunlap was charged with a message to the Governor informing him that Jonathan Thayer Esqr. had been duly qualified to act as Councillor the current year.

[Petitions referred]

Petition of Selectmen of Trenton for a grant of land for the public uses of said town, referred in the House to the Committee on State Lands, came up for concurrence, was read and concurred.

Petition of Selectmen of Phipsburg that all the Courts in Lincoln County may be held at Wiscasset, committed in the House to Messrs.
