To all who shall see these Presents,
Greeting:

Know Ye, that Albion K. Parris, our Governor, reposing special trust and confidence in the integrity, ability and discretion of Isaac G. Reed, of Waldoborough, Esquire, hath nominated, and by and with the advice and consent of our Council, appointed the said Isaac G. Reed, One of the Inspectors of the State Prison, under the Act of the 25th of February 1824.
We, therefore, do hereby authorize and empower him to fulfil the duties of that office according to law; and to have and to hold the same, together with all the powers, privileges and emoluments thereto of right appertaining unto him the said Isaac G. Reed, Esquire, during the pleasure of our Governor and Council for the time being.
In testimony whereof, We have caused these letters to be made Patent, and our Seal to be hereunto affixed. Witness our Governor, at the Council Chamber, in Portland, the thirtieth of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four; and of the Independence of the United States the forty eighth.

Lincoln ss: May 29. 1824. Then personally appeared Isaac G. Reed, of Waldoboro, in said County of Lincoln and took and subscribed the oaths prescribed by the Constitution of this State, and a law of the United States to qualify him to discharge and execute the duties of the office of Inspectors of the States Prison within and for the County aforesaid to which he is appointed and commissioned.
