Senate January 18 1825.

[Message]

A message was received from the House informing that they had reconsidered the Vote whereby they had assigned this day for coming to the choice of a Major General on their part, and had assigned Thursday of next week at 10 O clock A,M. for that purpose.

[Reports on Petition]

Mr. Campbell from the Committee on Petition of Isaac Sturdevant and others, reported that the Petitioners cause an attested copy of their Petition with this order thereon to be served on each of the Clerks of the towns of Falmouth and Westbrook, also to cause the same to be published in the Eastern Argus and Independent Statesman, papers printed in Portland, twelve days at least before the first Wednesday of February of the present session of the present Legislature: Read, accepted and sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred:

Mr. Dunlap from the Committee on Petition of the Trustees of the Gardiner Lyceum, reported that the Petitioners have leave to bring in a Resolve: Read accepted and sent down for concurrence.

Petition of Inhabitants of Plantation No 12 Washington county, that said Plantation when incorporated may be called Whiting, was read and referred to the Committee on Incorporation of towns: Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred
