� 124 Capt Land take comand of the Regt Feb 9 1865 We still lay in the old works at the run. We comensed a tent to stay in. Some of the things come from camp. Capt Land [Joseph F Land] came out and took command of the regt. 10th Still cold and windy. We built our tent and staid in it one night. 11th A fair day. We tore down the old brestworks and packed up and moved back two miles on to the rear line and camped for the night. Orders to build comfortable quarters 12th We begin to build our quarters. 13th We worked on our tents all day. Verry cold and windy 14th Some of the camp guard came out from the old camp that was left to guard the old camp when we lef it. We put the roof on our ten. 15th Rainy. Still at work on our tents I bought McElrays revolver. 16th A rainy day. No news of importence. Lieut Bickford [William K Bickford] returned from Maine. 17th All quiet along the line. 18th We policed the street for inspection.
