Petition of Alfred. J. S.J.G.Lithgow - of Auld M Cobb Brown praying for authority to change their names were severally read and referred to the committee on change of names.

Petitions of Og. McDaniel - Job Sylvester 3rd praying for authority to change their names. were severally read & referred to the committee on change of names.

Bill for the preservation of the beeches & salt marshes in the town of Wells, reported by the committee on the petition of Joseph Gilman, was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3rd reading.

Petition of Thomas Newman & als, to be incorporated as an Engine Company, was read & referred to Messrs Fillebrown of Winthrop, Butterfield of Sidney & Mayhew of New Sharon.

Bill - additional to the act to regulate the Jurisdiction & proceedings of Courts of Probate, was taken up and referred to Messrs Abbot of Castine, Ames of Bath, Pond of Bucksport, Alden of Brunswick & Goodenow of Alfred.

Resolve for purchasing Greenleafs Reports was read a second time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill, to incorporate the Kennebunk Port Distillery, reported by the committee on the petition of Simon Nowell & als, was read a 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3rd reading
