[1824] Senate Feb'y 25. 1824 -

[Bill] Bill additional to an Act to organize, govern and discipline the Militia, came up, and the House refer the same to the next Legislature: the Senate reconsidered their vote by which they passed the Bill to be engrossed, adopt sundry amendments, and now pass the same to be engrossed; sent down by message for concurrence.-

Mr. Witham from the committee on engrossed Bills reported a

[Bill enacted] Bill providing for the government of the State Prison and for the punishment of Convicts;" to be truly copied, and it was passed to be enacted: Also,

[Resolve passed] Resolve on the Pay Roll of the House of Representatives; and it was passed. -

[Petition] Petition of Samuel Taylor and als. and report thereon were taken from the files and referred to the committee on Towns; sent down for concurrence: concurred. -

[Bill] Bill further to define the powers of Courts of Sessions, was read twice and passed to be engrossed: sent down for concurrence: came up, and the House indefinitely postpone the same. -

[Order] Order of the House that the Senate send down the Bill respecting the indorsement on writs, came up, and the Bill was sent down. -

[Report on petition] Mr. Wilkins from the committee on petition of Joseph Whitney, reported that he have leave to withdraw his petition: Read, accepted and sent down for the concurrence: concurred. -
