On motion by Mr Cutler, Ordered that the Rules and orders of the Senate be so far amended as to permit the Chaplains of the Senate and House of Representatives to interchange in the performance of their official duties at their pleasure, and that this order be communicated to them. A communication from Joel Whitney signifying his acceptance of the office of Counsellor was received and sent down [Joel Whitney acepce of office of Counsellor]
On motion by Mr. Cutler a Message was sent to the House of Representatives proposing a convention forthwith for the purpose of qualifying Joel Whitney Counsellor elect concurred [Messsage to H.R. proposing convention]
Agreeably to assignment the two Houses met in convention when Joel Whitney Counsellor elect came in and took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify him to enter upon the discharge of his official duties The Convention separated [Convention to qualify J. Whitney as Counsellor]
In Senate Mr. Cutler was charged with a message to the Governor and Council informing them of the qualification of Joel Whitney in convention [Message to Gov & counc inform qual of Joel Whitney counsellor]
A communication was received from Mark Harris Treasurer of State elect transmitting a bond for the approval of the Legislature, Read and with the accompanying bond referred to the Committee who had under consideration the late Treasurer's Report Sent down for concurrence. Concurred [Mark Harris Treas of State presen ted a bond Bill]
