whole Resolve having had two several readings passed to be engrossed as thus amended - sent up for concurrence -
Messenger from the Governor To the Senate and House of Representatives
It afford me pleasure to be able to communicate to the Legislature the information that sam [?] advised by his excellency the Governor of Massachusetts, that the sum of four hundred and nineteen thousand, seven hundred and sixty eight dollars and twenty nine cents, has been received by him from the general government towards the claim of Massachusetts for Militia services during the late war - Sam assured by the Governor of Massachusetts that the items - which have been postponed together with all the uniquified portions of the account will be subject to the faithful attention and management of the able Representative of that State, to whose conduct this subject has been specially assigned - His excellency informs me that he has proposed to the Legislature of that Commonwealth now in session an order for the payment to the State of Maine the share to which we are entitled by virtue of the provision in the act of separation. It will be necessary that the Legislature of this State should pass a corresponding Resolve authorizing the receipt of the same into the Treasury of the State. Council Chamber March 12. 1831
