273 Resolve providing for the purchase & distribution of Greenleaf's Reports was read a 3rd time & passed to be Engrossed in concurrence with the Senate. Report of Committee on the Judiciary on an order of January 21 relative to providing by law that persons holding offices the tenure of which is limited by law to four years shall not be reappointed &c that legislation on that subject is not Expedient came from the Senate accepted for concurrence & the House concurred. Report on Petition of David Trask granting leave to withdraw was read & accepted - sent up for concurrence. Report on Petition of B. Brown granting leave to withdraw read & accepted in the Senate & sent down for concurrence & the House non-concurred & ordered the same recommitted to the same Committee - sent up for concurrence. Ordered - that the joint select committee on that part of the Governor's Message which relates to the public Buildings be directed to inquire into the expediency of abolishing the office of Commissioner of Public Buildings - sent up for concurrence. In compliance with the order of March 17th the Secretary of State came in and laid on the table the returns from the different Banks in this State received at his office in pursuance of a Resolve passed March 12, 1831 which returns were referred to the Committee on the State Valuation on the part of the House.
