Afternoon

Met according to adjournment.

Joseph Lufkin Esquire the member returned from Pownal, presented his credentials, which on examination were found to be informal and not to afford legal evidence of his election - but on motion it was ordered that he be permitted to hold his seat until he should have sufficient time to procure legal certificates of his election - and he was accordingly qualified & took his seat.

On motion of Mr. Holmes of Alfred, Ordered, that the Governor be requested to lay before the House of Representatives the Register in which are recorded the resolutions and advice of the Council, agreeably to the third section of the second part of the fifth article of the Constitution of this State, and that the Clerk of the House communicate this request to the Governor by message.

On motion by Mr. Bourne of Kennebunk Ordered, that this House will hold two sessions each day commencing at nine o clock in the morning and at half past two o clock in the afternoon.

On motion of Mr. Cobb of Durham, Ordered that a Committee be appointed to wait upon the several ordained ministers of the Gospel in the town of Portland and respectfully request them to perform the duties of Chaplain to this House according to seniority during the present political year - and Messrs
