296 Petition of A. Berry & others for an act of incorporation for a Packet Company was read & referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals in concurrence with the Senate. The order of the 23d instant proposing questions to the Supreme Judicial Court came from the Senate passed as taken into a new draft & the House referred the same to Messrs. Bourne of Kennebunk, Clifford of Newfield and Harris of Portland Resolve for the payment of accounts against the State was taken up & referred to Messrs. Robinson of Vassalboro', Bodwell of Shapleigh and Dunn of Poland Ordered that a Message be sent to the Governor requesting him to send to this House - Bill to incorporate the Titcomb Belgrade Academy if the same has not been approved. Petition of Ezekiel Whitman for allowance for extra services was read & referred to the Committee on the Judiciary - sent up for concurrence. Resolve in favor of Samuel Winter came from the Senate passed to be engrossed for concurrence - and the House nonconcur and adhere to their former vote refusing this resolve a passage - sent up for concurrence. Bill to incorporate the Titcomb Belgrade Academy was taken up & the House reconsider their former votes passing this Bill to be enacted & to be engrossed - amend the original bill as on sheet annexed marked D and order the same to be reengrossed as amended - sent up for concurrence.
