309 Tuesday March 29, 1831 Met according to adjournment

The Committee on Engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed - Bill to incorporate the Titcomb Belgrade Academy which was passed to be enacted - sent up for concurrence. The same Committee also report as duly engrossed - Resolve in favor of John Hobbs which was finally passed - sent up for concurrence. Bill additional respecting Bowdoin College was read and referred to Messrs. Parks of Bangor, Holden of Brunswick and Bailey of Parsonsfield. Resolve granting one set of Greenleaf's Statistical view and map of Maine to the Justices of the Westbrook Seminary was read a 2nd time and passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence. Agreeably to assignment the House proceeded to ballot on their part for a Major General of the 4th Division of Militia of this State - the whole number of votes given in was One hundred & seventeen - necessary to a choice fifty nine - Brigadier General John C. Humphreys had one hundred & seventeen votes was declared duly elected in concurrence with the Senate and the Senate were by message notified thereof. Resolve establishing a valuation for this State was read 1 & 2 time & passed to be Engrossed - sent up for concurrence.
