316 an order similar to one introduced & rejected yesterday in relation to the manner of apportioning the State tax and the question upon so dispensing with such rules was taken by yeas & nays as follows - yeas 80 nays 57 -


and the House having reconsidered their vote passing the order of yesterday in relation to this subject passed the following order in its stead to wit - (for yeas & nays see page 497)

Ordered that the Committee on Finance be directed to assess & apportion a tax of Fifty Thousand Four Hundred and thirteen dollars & forty five cents upon the several counties & towns in this State having regard solely to Estate and having no reference whatever to the number of polls.
