Agreeably to assignment to two branches met in convention in the Representatives Chamber for the purpose of choosing seven Councillors to advise the Governor in the Executive part of the Government for the present year and also for the choice of a Secretary of State - Messrs Ingalls, Seammeui & Davee of the Senate and Messrs Steele of Brownfield, Clifford of Newfield, Folsom of Eastport, Mason of Orono and Gerrish of Portland of the House were appointed to a Committee to recived sort and count the votes for Councillors who having attended to the duty assigned them reported, that the whole number of votes given in was one hundred and ninety one, necessary to constitute a choice ninety five, Nathaniel Clark has one hundred and twenty nine, Allen H.
