had one hundred and thirty three, Alfred Pierce had one hundred and thirty two, Charles Peavey had one hundred and twenty five, William B. Webber had one hundred and sixteen and were declared elected - The convention failing on the first ballot to elect the seventh Councillor it was ordered that a second ballot be taken for that purpose - The same Committee then proceeded to receive sort and count the votes for a seventh Councillor and having attended to the duty assigned them, reported the whole number given in to be one hundred and eighty three - Necessary to constitute an election ninety two - No person having the requisite number, the Committee again proceeded to receive, sort and count the votes for a seventh Councillor, and having attended to the duties assigned them, reported the whole number of votes given to be one hundred and eighty seven - necessary to constitute an election ninety four, Samuel P. Strickland had one hundred and seven and was declared elected.

Messrs. Talbot, Keith & Eastman of the Senate and Betcher of Farmington, Knowlton of Montville, Dummer of Hallowell, Emerson of Calais and Cummings of Cape Elizabeth of the House were appointed a Committee to receive sort and count the votes for a Secretary of State, who having attended to the duties assigned them, reported that the whole number of votes given in was on hundred and ninety five - necessary to constitute an election ninety eight - that Roscoe G. Greene had one hundred and thirty two votes, and was declared to be elected - and the convention separated.

Ordered that when this House adjourn, it adjourn until half past two o'clock this afternoon.
