Resolve in favor of Limerick Academy, reported by the committee on Literature &c - was read once and ordered to be on the table -

Bill establishing Bowdoinham Academy, reported by the committee on Literature &c was read once & tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.

On motion of Mr Sands of Buxton, Ordered, That the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals, be directed to inquire into the expediency of repealing the third section of an act entitled "an additional act respecting Highways" passed February 24th 1827. - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr Jewett of Bowdoinham, Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of providing a remedy by law, for the discharge of persons committed to jail on precepts in favor of the State. read & passed. Sent up for concurrence

On motion of Mr Ruggles of Thomaston Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary be directed to inquire into the expediency of authorizing by law, Judges of Probate to allow Widows all the personal property of their deceased husbands not exceeding ______ dollars in value, without granting Administration or without the appointment of Commiss-
