On motion of Mr Pond of Bucksport Ordered, That the Secretary of State be requested to send to this House the returns of the Selectmen of the several towns and of the Assessors of the several plantations, made to the office of the said Secretary, on or before the second Wednesday of January current, as required by the fifth section of an Act in addition to an act to provide for the education of youth passed February 25th 1825 - read & passed.

On motion of Mr True of Poland, Ordered, That the Senate be requested to take from their files and send to this House the petition of the inhabitants of Thompson pond plantation and accompanying papers. - read & passed. Sent up.

Bill - for the preservation of Augusta & other Bridges, was read once, amended & then on motion referred to Messrs Ruggles of Thomaston, Bradbury of Hollis & Staples of Swanville

Mr Smith of Newfield moved the following order - viz Ordered That _____ be a committee with such as the Senate may join, whose duty it shall be to inquire whether any reasons exist to require the removal of the Adjutant General of this State with instructions to report - which was ordered to lie on the table until Tuesday next at ten o'clock.

The consideration of the order moved by Mr Shaw yesterday was called for, and then on motion the order was laid upon the table.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed - Bill - relating to the School fund in North Yarmouth - - to incorporate the town of Lincoln - which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.
