An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the Secretary of State to notify the Governor that the Legislature have this day, by a concurrent vote of the Senate and the House of Representatives, elected Joseph S Jewett of Scarboro' in the County of Cumberland, Major General of the 5th Division of the Militia of this State - and the House concurred.
Report on the petition of the Stockholders of Bangor Bank made the present session & accompanying papers, came down referred to the Committee on Banks & Banking for concurrence - and the House concurred.
Bill - respecting County Roads taken from the last years files of the Senate, came down referred to the Committee on Turnpikes &c for concurrence & the House concurred.
Report of the committee to whom was referred the order to inquire into the expediency of reporting a bill making provision for a drill of Officers &c, was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
Report on that part of the Governors Speech relating to Debtors & Creditors, was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
Resolve in favor of John K Smith came from the Senate referred to the committee on the Judiciary for concurrence & the House concurred.
Petition of Solomon H Mudge & als members of the Portland Rifle Company to be incorporated, was read & referred to the Committee on Militia & Military Affairs. Sent up for concurrence
