The House receded from their vote refusing the Bill a passage amended the same as proposed by the Senate, and then passed the same to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate - The latter question was taken by yeas & nays and decided as follows - Yeas 77 Nays 37 [see appendix page 315.]

On motion of Mr Fillebrown of Winthrop Ordered, That Messrs Fillebrown of Winthrop, Dole of Alna & Bourne of Kennebunk with such as the Senate may join be a committee to report what further business in their opinion it is necessary the Legislature should act upon, at the present session, and when a recess may be had, not inconsistent with the interests of the State or any individual thereof - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence

Resolve on the petition of Bowdoin College, came from the Senate, that body adhering to their former vote passing the same to be engrossed - The House adhered to their vote of 16th inst postponing the same indefinitely.

An additional Resolve providing Public Buildings for the use of the State, was read once & tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a second reading.

Bill - recognizing the Strafford Company as a Corporation within this State, was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at ten o clock assigned for a third reading

Resolve in favor of Joel Miller was read a second time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill - to ascertain the number, condition & annual expense of the paupers in this State, came down from the Senate, that body adhering to their vote passing the same to be engrossed. - The House adhere to their vote of yesterday postponing the same indefinitely -
