John Burnham] Mr. Kingsbury from the Committee on the Judiciary reported leave to withdraw on the petition of John Burnham and others Selectmen of Orland. concurred. and on order of February 5th, respecting the legal liabilities of Plantations to support their poor, that legislation is inexpedient. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

[Bill to prevent] Bill to prevent the destruction of Alewives in Little River in the town of Perry came up amended for concurrence and the Senate concurred.

[Bills & Resolves passed to be engrossed] Bill to incorporate the Springvale Printworks, as amended " additional authorizing the further reduction of the capital stock of the Bangor Bank and Resolve in favor of Joshua Hathaway and " providing for the purchase and distribution of Greenleaf's Reports were severally read a 2nd time and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.

[Pet. Thos. McLaughlin taken from files &c] On motion by Mr. Phelps, the petition of Thomas McLaughlin and others was taken from the files and referred to the Committee on Incorporation of towns. s.d.f.c. concurred.
