The Secretary of the Senate laid upon the table a list of business referred to this Legislature, which was ordered to lie on the table.
Order offered by Mr Burnham providing for the appointment of a committee of ways and means, was taken up, and a passage refused.
On motion of Mr Meqquire, Ordered, that when the Senate adjourn, it adjourn to meet again at half past two o'clock this afternoon.

Afternoon. The Senate met according to adjournment. Mr Talbot from the joint select committee, appointed to engage a Draftsman, made a report which was read and recommitted to the same committee. Sent down for concurrence.

Mr Sweat from the committee to whom was referred the votes for Senators given in the several towns and plantations in the State made a report 'that, in those towns included in the First Senatorial District or District of York, the whole number of votes, legally and Constitutionally returned, are 21,364. Necessary to a choice 3,561. Moses Sweat has 4,069 Benjamin Pike " 4,073.
