Report of the Committee of the Judiciary on the order of 3d inst directing them to examine the law relating to the duties of coroners in making inquests &c, requesting to be discharged from further consideration thereof, was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate.

Report of the Committee of the Judiciary on the order of 13th inst directing them to inquire into the expediency of making provision by law for returns of births, deaths & marriages in the several towns in the State, requesting to be discharged from the further consideration thereof, was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate.

Report on Petition of Manasseh Lawrence & others, granting an order of Notice, came down accepted in Senate for concurrence - The House nonconcurred & recommitted the same. Sent up for concurrence

On motion of Mr Herrick of Lewiston Ordered, that the Secretary of State be requested to lay before the House of Representatives forthwith the pay Roll of the Council for the last political year - Read & passed.

Bill - in further addition to an act to establish the Cumberland & Oxford Canal Corporation, was read 1st & 2d time & Monday next at 11 o clock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill - to set off Amos Hills & Luther Eames from Newry to Bethel, was read twice & indefinitely postponed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - recognizing the Strafford Manufacturing Company as a Corporation in this State, was referred to Messrs Perkins of Hebron, Boutelle of Waterville & Jewett of South Berwick.
