Bill - to incorporate the South Parish in the town of Bridgton was read a second time & Thursday next at 10 o clock assigned for a 3d reading.
Bill - additional to the several acts now in force securing to owners their property in Logs, Masts, Spars & other timber, was returned by the committee to whom the same was referred, & then on motion committed to Messrs Clark of Hallowell, Herrick of Lewiston, Sylvester of Harpswell, Little of Castine Vance of Baring, Frost of Bethel, Gower of Abbot, Merrill of Frankfort, Appleton of York & Bartlett of Garland.
Mr Clark of Hallowell was substituted for Mr Smith of Nobleboro on the order of 13th inst directing an enquiry as to the propriety of amending the existing law in relation to Highway Taxes
Report of the Committee on the petition of Bradford Young & als, referring the same to the next Legislature, was read & accepted. Sent up for concurrence
Report of the Committee on State Lands on order of Feby 8th directing them to take into consideration the lands belonging to the Passamaquoddy Indians &c, that it is inexpedient to legislate on the subject, was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
Report of the Committee on the petition of the Selectmen of Trenton, granting leave to withdraw, was read & accepted. Sent up for concurrence.
Resolve authorizing the Secretary of State to subscribe for a Map of the State of Maine & a Statistical Work by Moses Greenleaf was read once, and tomorrow and tomorrow at ten o clock assigned for a second reading
