215 the committee on the State valuation, to deduct the poll, and so much of the estate of Abraham Hilton from the valuation roll of the town of Alna and annex the same to the town of Jefferson, as set off to said Town of Jefferson by an Act passed February 23, 1828, read and passed in concurrence. [Resolve dividing the State into Districts for the choice of Senators taken up] The Resolve for dividing the State into Districts for the choice of Senators was taken up, and a motion was made by Mr. Gardner to amend said Resolve in such manner as to increase the number of Senators to twenty eight, which question being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays was decided in the negative as follows, To wit: [Yeas] Yeas - Messrs. Dole, Eastman, Fuller, Gardner, Harding, Kingsbury and Morse - 7. [Nays] Nays Messrs. Davee, Drummond, Dunlap, Goodwin, Hall, Hinds, Hutchinson, Hutchings, Ingalls, Megquier, Pike, Steele and Sweat - 13. [Amendment proposed] Mr. Kingsbury then moved to amend said resolve so as to increase the number of Senators to be chosen to twenty seven, which question being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided as follows, To wit: [Yeas] Yeas Messrs. Dole, Drummond, Eastman, Fuller, Gardner, Harding, Hinds, Hutchinson, Kingsbury & Morse 10. [Nays] Nays Messrs. Davee, Dunlap Goodwin, Hall, Hutchings, Ingalls, Megquier, PIke, Steel and Sweat 10 [Amendment proposed] Mr. Kingsbury then moved to amend said Resolve so as to allow the counties of York and Washington to elect four Senators each and at the request of Mr. Megquier, the question was divided so
