Whereupon, the following preamble and Resolution, offered by Mr Megquier, were unanimously adopted, to wit: As it has pleased the Sovereign Disposer of events to remove by death the Hon. Benjamin Pike, a highly esteemed member of this Board from the county of York -

Resolved, that the members of the Senate, as a mark of their respect for the memory and virtues of the decreased, will wear crape on the left arm during the remainder of the Session.

On motion of Mr Ingalls, a message was sent to the House of Representatives informing them, that, in consequence of the death of the Hon. Benjamin Pike, Senator from York District, the Senate would forthwith adjourn to half past two o'clock this afternoon. And accordingly the Senate Adjourned.
