121 Saturday January 28. 1832 Met according to adjournment.

On motion of Mr Boyd Ordered that the Committee on leave of Absence be instructed to report the names of those members who have obtained leave of absence, with those who have absented themselves more than two days without leave.

A Communication was received from the Clerk of the Courts in York County in compliance with an order of the 13.th instant which was read and referred to the select Committee of this House who have that subject under consideration.

Communication from Amos Allen signifying his acceptance of the Office of Councillor to which he was elected by the two Houses of the Legislature, came from the senate and was read.

Resolve in favor of Sewall Watson was read once and upon motion the same was indefinitely postponed.

On motion of Mr Tobin Ordered that the Committee on Literary Institutions be instructed to enquire into the expediency of so far amending the law in relation to the education of youth as to place the School Committee in the several towns and plantations in this State under the control of their respective towns and plantations - sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr. Eustis Ordered that the Messenger of the House of Representatives provide a convenient Board in the North Lobby adjoining the Representatives Hall whereon all Standing and other Committees are directed to post up the notices of the times and places by them assigned for considering and examining the respective subjects before them.
