[Report on the Pet: G.A. Smith referred] Mr. Usher from the Committee to whom was referred the petition of Gamaliel E. Smith and an order of the House of Representatives thereon reported a reference of the same to the next Legislature. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. concurred.

[Resolve requiring returns of Registers of Deeds] Resolve requiring Returns from Registers of Deeds was read and passed to be engrossed in concurrence.

[Resolve for paymt. of contingent expenses] Resolve for the payment of contingent expenses was read once, ordered to a second reading, again read and passed to be engrossed in concurrence.

[Bill concerning Logs &c] Bill additional to the several acts now in force to secure to owners their property in logs, masts, spars and other timber came from the House amended for concurrence and the Senate concurred.

[Resolve fixing pay of the cmm of Public Buildings] Mr. Page from the Committee on Engrossed Bills reported Resolve fixing the compensation of the Commissioner of public buildings and the Senate reconsidered their former vote passing this Resolve to be engrossed, amended the same so as to increase the per diem pay to "four dollars," and passed the same to be engrossed as amended - and a message was sent informing the House thereof and requesting their concurrence
