[Bill to prevent the destruction of Moose &c] Mr. Phelps from the Conferees on the disagreement of the two Houses respecting the Bill to prevent the destruction of Moose, Deer and Karibou [caribou] " reported that they had met the Conferees of the House of Representatives, and recommend that the Senate adhere to their former vote refusing this Bill a passage. Read and accepted and the Senate voted to adhere accordingly. Sent down.

[Report of conferees] Mr. Cushman from the Conferees on the disagreement of the two Houses respecting the "Bill to prevent the destruction of fish in the Sebasticook River" reported that they had met the Conferees of the House of Representatives, and had been unable to come to any agreement; they therefore recommend that the Senate adhere to their former vote passing the Bill to be engrossed. Read and accepted, and the Senate voted to adhere accordingly.

[Resolve requiring Returns from Clerks of Courts] Resolve requiring Returns from the Clerks of the Judicial Courts was read and passed to be engrossed in concurrence.

[Bill respecting Clerks of Courts] Bill additional respecting Clerks of the Judicial Courts was read once, ordered to a second reading, again read and passed to be engrossed in concurrence.

[leave of absence] Mr. Kingsbury of Kennebec has leave of absence after tomorrow.

[Resolve for the payment of accts] Resolve for the payment of accounts against the State came up amended for concurrence and the Senate concurred.

[Message from the House] Message from the House of Representatives that they had refused to adopt the amendment proposed by the Senate to the Resolve fixing the compensation of the Commissioner of Public Buildings and adhered to their former vote finally passing the same. and that they had elected George Scammon of Saco, Joshua Richardson of Portland, Commissioners to examine the Affairs of the State Prison.
