House. read and passed.

[Order.] Order from the House of Representatives instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to enquire if any, and what alteration is necessary in the law relating to the maintenance of bastard children, read and passed in Concurrence.

[Order] Order from the House, directing the committee on the Judiciary to enquire into the expediency of amending the law in relation to cost in criminal prosecutions so that no fees shall be allowed witnesses on the part of the State on continued criminal prosecutions, until the Third day of the term of the Judicial Courts, and that witnesses at the preceeding terms shall be recognized to make their appearance at said next term on said third day. Read and concurred.

[Report of the Committe relating to public lands of Massachusetts in this State.] The Committee appointed to examine the order from the House of Representatives relating to an enquiry of the executive of Massachusetts as to the sale of lands north and south of the Monument, report the same as taken into a new draft, which was read and passed. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred.
