For son [?] 2nd Lieut in Co. A 2nd Regt
Bangor Nov. 13th, 1861 Governor Washburn
Dear Sir,
I understand there is a vacincy in Co. A. 2 Redgt. of V.M.M. of 2nd Lieut. my son went from here as a Private in that Company he is Odarly Sargent now and I think it belongs to him I understand they talk of sending out of the Company for one that I think they ought not to do as he comes next in Promotion.
I saw Lieut. Brown today he said my son was cabable of performing the duty of 2nd Lieutenant and would make a first rate one and hope you will do all in your power
