The petition of certain inhabitants of Portland, for a City Charter was read and referred to the committee on the Judiciary, in concurrence.

The petition of Zebah Washburn to be admitted to practice law, came up from the House referred to Messrs Webster, Boyd, and Clark, with such as the Senate may join, concurred and Messrs Burnham and Eastman are joined.

Remonstrance of certain inhabitants of Winthrop, " of certain inhabitants of Fairfield against a boom at Brown's Island, were read and referred to the committee on Turnpikes, Bridges, and Canals, in concurrence.

The petition of certain inhabitants of Washington counry, for the formation of an Agricultural Society, was read and referred to the committee on Agriculture, in concurrence.

Mr Ingalls was charged with a message to the Governour, requesting him to return to the Senate a Resolve in favour John Carlton 2d. The Secretary of State came in and laid on the table said Resolve.

Resolve in favour of Nathan Hills and others came up from the House referred to the committee on the State Prison for concurrence. and the Senate concurred.
