Wednesday February 10th 1830

Met according to adjournment.

A communication was received from the Secretary of State in the following words, "Office of Secretary of State Portland February 9th 1830 Sir, I have the honor to transmit herewith a copy of the return of the Sheriffs fees by the Treasurer of Kennebec County, which should have been communicated to the House of Representatives, with similar returns from other Counties this morning, but was accidentally mislaid. I am sir respectfully your most obedient Servant. "Hon Speaker of the House of Representatives. (signed) Edward Russell, Secty of State" which was read & referred to Messrs Pond of Bucksport, Smith of Nobleboro and Shapleigh of Berwick with such as the Senate may join - Sent up for concurrence.

The House of Representatives on motion, recommitted the report of the Committee on contested Elections in the case of Richard Shapleigh.

On motion of Mr Smith of Nobleboro' Ordered That the Committee on the part of the House [crossout] to wait on Jonathan G Hunton Esqr Governor elect & inform him of his election &c, be directed to report forthwith - read & passed.

Mr Scamman from the Committee on the part of the House to wait on Jonathan G Hunton, Governor elect & inform him of his election, and that the two branches of the Legislature are ready to convene in the Representatives Chamber at such time as he may appoint, and administer to him the oaths of office, reported that the Committee had attended to the duties assigned them, and that the Governor elect was pleased to say, he would meet the two branches in Convention in the Representatives
