There being vacancies in Company D, you will please send commissions as follows, viz Promote Stephen D. Millett now 2nd Lieut to 1st Lieut, send 2nd Lieut's commission to Sergeant John H. Kittredge nee Stephen D. Millett promoted. If consistent please have the commissions dated Jany 1st 1862 as it will much assist us in [?] our rolls etc. Wishing you & yours the compliments of the season and peace good will toward men, except South.
