Dear Sir Lieut S.B. Field arived here today with recruits all well. had a hard time. was oblidged to pay for dinner supper lodding [lodging] Breakfast in Boston the man sent by him for the 4th Maine sliped him before he got to N.Y. unbeknown to him or the the men he detailed to look after him. the Regt is in good Shape
