269 on Agriculture were severally read a first and second time and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence. Resolve providing for the publication of the Journals of the Legislature, laid on the table by Mr. Burnham, Bill relating to the State Prison, reported by the committee on State Prisons, Bill to incorporate the Anson Agricultural Society, reported by the committee on Agriculture, Resolve in favour of William King, reported by a select committee were severally read once and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading. On motion of Mr. Hodgman, the Senate Chamber was cleared of spectators and the Senate went into secret session. The Senate resumed the consideration of the Resolves respecting the Territory lying north and east of the River St. John and St Francis. Mr. Boutelle moved to amend by inserting the following words at the end of the first Resolve "Provided however that the Commissioners appointed under this Resolve shall make an indemnity to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for her interest in the Territory above described if she shall before any meeting of said Commissioners agree to abide by and accept such indemnity"
