Bill to incorporate the Orono Bridge came up from the House amended. The Senate recede from their vote passing said Bill to be engrossed, and adopt the amendment proposed by the House. Mr Boutelle moved to amend said Bill by adding the following words at the end of the second section, "Provided, however, that said Proprietors shall be responsible in law for any damages the Proprietors of the Oldtown Bridge may sustain by reason of the Proprietors of the Orono Bridge building a Bridge within the charted limits of said Oldtown Bridge Corporation" which question being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays was decided in the negative as follows to wit Yeas Messrs Boutelle, Burnham, Hunton, Talbot, and Thayer ---- 5 Nays. Messrs Bridgeham, Davee, Dunlap, Eastman, Emerson, Gibson, Groton, Goodwin, Keith, Lithgow, Megquier, Merrill, Porter, Scammon, Smith, Thompson and Webb ---- 17. Said Bill was then laid on the table.
