Mr. Sweat from the committee to which was referred an order relating to Collector's notices published in the "Age", reported that Legislation on the subject is inexpedient, read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence.

Bill to organize, govern and discipline the Militia came up from the House. The House adhering to their vote passing said Bill to be engrossed as amended. The Senate reconsider their vote passing said Bill to be engrossed, adopt the amendment proposed by the House and further amend said Bill by adding a new section. Mr. Hodgman then moved to further amend said Bill by adding the following section Be it further enacted, that to every officer, noncommissioned officer, musician and private, who shall actually appear, equipped for military duty on the day of Regimental Review, there shall be paid the sum of fifty cents each by the treasurer of the town or plantation, to which such officer, noncommissioned officer, musician or private may belong, which sum shall be in lieu of the twenty five cents already allowed by law; and such noncommissioned officer, musician or private after receiving said fifty cents shall refuse or neglect to do duty on said day of review, he shall forfeit three dollars to be recovered by action of debt by the Clerk of the Company, one third to his own use and the other two thirds to the
