76 tax - were severally read and referred to the Committee on the Militia - sent up for concurrence -

Petition of Abraham Dixon and others for an alteration in the School Law - of the Inhabitants of Unity - of 88 Inhabitants of Litchfield - of Inhabitants of Leeds against extra Judicial Oaths were severally read and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary - sent up for concurrence.

Two Remonstrances against an alteration of the Penobscot Boom were read and referred to the Joint select Committee who have that subject under consideration - sent up for concurrence.

Petition of John Fuller and others to be incorporated by the name of the Livermore Hemp Growing and Manufacturing Company - was read and referred to the Committee on Agriculture - sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Mary L. Davis for change of name, was read and referred to the Committee on change of names

Agreeably to assignment both Houses of the Legislature met in convention for the purpose of choosing a Councillor in the place of William B. Webber who declines the appointment - Messrs. Hodgman and Gibson of the Senate and Messrs Pierce of Gorham, Washburn of Livermore, and Carey of Houlton of the House were appointed a committee to receive sort and count the votes - who having attended to that duty, reported the whole number of votes given in to be one hundred and eighty eight - necessary to constitute an election ninety five - no person having the requisite number, the Convention proceeded to to a second ballot - The Same Committee were directed to receive sort and count the votes - who having attended to
