18 Saturday, January, 5th, 1833. The Senate met according to adjournment The President announced to the Board the appointment of the following standing Committees of the Senate, to wit; On Bills in the Second Reading.

Messrs. Keith, Webb, Talbot, Reed, Boutelle, Randall, McLellan, Pease, Cogswell, Knowlton, Davee, Herrick.

On Engrossed Bills. Messrs. Scammon, Williamson, Burnham, Randall, Emerson, Cobb, Warren, Howard, Hunton, Drummond, Bradbury, Hamlin. The Secretary of the Senate laid upon the table a list of business referred to this Legislature which was ordered to lie on the table. On motion of Mr. Davee, Ordered, If the House concur, that the following be a joint Rule of the two Houses and that the same be printed with their respective Rules and Orders. That it shall be the duty of all joint standing Committees of the two Houses, and of the Committees or each House, except the Select Committee on Apportionment of Representatives to Congress, and the Standing Committee on the Militia to report progress, if not finally on every subject committed to them respectively, within seven days next after such commitment. Provided, that this Rule shall not take effect, until after the twelfth day of the Session. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
