38 Tuesday, January, 8, 1833. Communications were received from Robert. P. Dunlap, Alfred Pierce, Nathaniel Clark and John Hodgdon signifying their acceptance of the office of Councillors. Read and sent down. On motion of Mr. Talbot, Ordered that a message be sent to the House of Representatives proposing a Convention of the two Houses of the Legislature in the Representatives Chamber at twelve o'clock this day for the purpose of administering the necessary oaths to Nathaniel Clark Alfred Pierce, Robert P. Dunlap and John Hodgdon Councillors elect, and a message received from the House concurring. On motion of Mr. Cobb, Ordered that Messrs Cobb, Drummond and Knowlton be a Committee with such as the House may join, to take into consideration all subjects relating to the division and alteration of Counties and that all votes referring papers relating to those subjects be so far reconsidered as to refer them to said Committee. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred and Messrs. Came of Alfred, Clarks of Wells, Redman of Brooksville, Haskell of Steuben, and Ridlon of Sebago were joined. On motion of Mr. Williamson, Ordered that Messrs. Williamson and Hamlin with such as the House may join be a committee to inquire into the doings of the managers appointed by virtue of an act granting a Lottery to encourage Steam Navigation in this State and to ascertain how far they have complied with the provisions of said
