Bill to set off a part of the town of Hallowell and to annex the same to the town of Gardiner came from the House, the House insisting on their vote passing said Bill to be engrossed can propose a Conference. the Senate refuse the proposition for a Conference, and adhere to their vote referring the same to the next Legislature. Sent down for concurrence.

The joint standing committee to whom was referred a Bill in addition to an Act authorizing the sale of the School lands in the town of New Gloucester, to raise a fund for the support of Schools in said Town, and for appointing Trustees for those purposes: reported that the same ought not to pass, and the question on the acceptance of said report, being ordered to be taken by Yeas and Nays, was decided in the negative as follows Yeas.
