The petition of John Potter and others for a law extending the provisions of the law providing for the education of youth in the town of Augusta Read and referred to a joint select Committee on the part of the House consisting of Messrs Emmons of Augusta, Wilkins of Bangor and Fernald of Saco with such as the Senate may join. Messrs Scammon and Keith were joined on the part of the Senate.

The petition of Upham F Cram and others praying that a law may be passed to compensate Adjutants of Regiments for services which they are required to perform by a law passed March 9 1832. Read and referred to the joint standing Committee on the Militia in concurrence.

The petition of the Selectmen of New Vineyward and others, praying that the County Commissioners Court may be abolished in the County of Somersett, and their duties transferred to the Court of Sessions, as formerly, Read and referred to the joint standing Committee on the Judiciary in concurrence.
