May 8th came off guard at 8 oclock. and then went out to Bath and bathed in the Warm Springs. then I went up to Sir John's Run. with the Captin. it is very warm to day. May 9th To day in quarters all day. wrote 3 letters home. at noon we received marching orders to goto New Market 100 miles from here. We are to start to morrow morning
May 10th We struck our tents this morning at 6 oclock to go to New Market. it is very warm this morning. we started at 10 oclock. came abought 23 miles and camped for the night on the ground and
