Tuesday, January 10, 1832.

Mr Hodgman, Senator elect from the District of Lincoln, appeared, was conducted to the Governour and Council and qualified, and took his seat at the Board.

In Convention. Agreeably to assignment, the two Branches of the Legislature met in Convention for the purpose of electing seven Counsellors and a Secretary of State. Messrs. Ingalls, Scammon, and Davee of the Senate, and Messrs Steele Clifford, Folsom, Nason and Gerrish of the House were appointed a committee to receive, sort, and count the votes for Councellors.

Messrs. Talbot, Keith, and Eastman of the Senate, and Messrs Belcher, Knowlton, Dummer, Emerson, and Cummings of the House were appointed a committee to receive, sort, and count the votes for a Secretary of State, who, having attended the duty assigned them reported that the whole number of votes given in was 195. The President of the Convention then declared Roscoe G. Greene duly elected Secretary of State.
