Communications from Nathaniel Clark, Edmund Mann, Edward Williams and Asa Clark, Counsellors elect, signifying their acceptance, were severally read and sent down.
On motion of Mr. Cobb, ordered that a message be sent to the House of Representatives, proposing a Convention of both branches of the Legislature, this day at half past eleven o'clock for the purpose of administering the oaths required by the Constitution to Nathaniel Clark, Edmund Mann, Edward Williams and Asa Clark , Counsellors elect, to qualify them to enter upon the discharge of their official duties. Which message was delivered by the Secretary.
A message was received from the House of Representatives, concurring in the foregoing proposition.
The Secretary of State laid upon the table a message from the Governor, transmitting a Communication from the President of the United States, through the Secretary of War, requesting this State to cede jurisdiction to the United State over the arsenal in the town of Augusta, which was read and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
Petition of George Brooks for a pension in consequence of a wound received while in the Military service of the State; was read and referred to the Committee on Military Pension. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
