Friday, February, 21, 1834.

Petition of Thos Nicherson for remuneration for keeping convicts on the way to the State Prison, Petition of Charles L. Custis, to be remunerated for money paid for taxes assessed upon the north half of township numbered two, Fourth Range, Oxford County, for the years 1831, 1832, & 1833, severally read and referred to the Committee on Claims, in concurrence.

Petition of Ichabod Russell for incorporation of a Stage Company from Bangor to Milburn, read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals, in concurrence.

Petition of John D. Kinsman and others to be incorporated under the title of the "Portland Band". read & referred to the Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions in concurrence.

Resolve in favor of Stephen Emerson, came up from the House, recommitted, with special instructions. The Senate reconsider their vote passing said Resolve to be engrossed, and recommit the same in concurrence.

Bill to incorporated the town of Lawmasset [?] came up from the House, amended by striking out the word "Lawmasset" and inserting in lien thereof the word "Somerset". The Senate, on motion of Mr Pierce, order that said Bill lie on the table.

Bill for enlarging the Jurisdiction of Justices of the Peace, came up from the House recommitted. The Senate recommit the same in concurrence.
